Everybody Sings - She Sings is a women-only choir based at Michael Park School on Wednesday evenings (7.15 to 9.15 pm).
Term 1, 2021 starts 10th Feb to 7th April.
ABOUT THIS CHOIR
EVERYBODY SINGS - SHE SINGS is a women-only choir based in Remuera for singers from 16 years old and up. This choir was originally opened as a mixed choir in 2012 under the name Volcanic City Voices but converted to a women only choir in 2019 as an alternative offering under the Everybody Sings group.
There are no auditions, and no experience is necessary. You don't need to be able to read music, either. We do sometimes learn music from written scores but always along with hearing the music, so that the notes on the page begin to make sense. And we also learn music just by listening.
We sing a mixture of styles of music: gospel, world, Māori, Pasifika, folk and pop arrangements, plus some of the more accessible classical choral music in the repertoire.
The choir is a friendly, relaxed group of people from all walks of life, and we welcome new members at any time.
When and Where...
We meet on Wednesday nights during school terms from 7.15pm to 9.15pm.
We rehearse at Michael Park School, 55 Amy Street, Ellerslie (see map below to locate us within the school).
